FIRST TUESDAYS - NEW TEMPORARY ART GALLERIES OPEN IN PORTMAN VILLAGE, MARYLEBONE
The Portman Estate in conjunction with Alternative Arts is launching an initiative ‘First Tuesdays’ to attract footfall to Seymour Place and New Quebec Street, W1 as part of the Estate’s ambitious plans to invest in the long term growth of one of its prime shopping and restaurant locations, known as Portman Village.
In line with the Estate’s vision and active leasing strategy to attract further a strong mix of independent fashion and lifestyle retailers to the streets, The Portman Estate is encouraging temporary use of its retail units to showcase the best of British and overseas designers, craftsmen and artists.
First Tuesdays will see new exhibitions to the streets on each Tuesday of every month sourced by Alternative Arts and The Portman Estate is also working with some of its current tenants to propose initiatives using the vacant spaces.
There has been strong interest to participate in this programme of events from many art and fashion colleges across London.
