8 DECEMBER 2008 - THE PORTMAN ESTATE APPOINTS CWM AS RETAIL ADVISOR FOR PORTMAN VILLAGE
The Portman Estate has appointed CWM as its retail advisor for Portman Village, which consists of New Quebec Street and Seymour Place in London W1. It is the next stage of the Estate’s regeneration of the area.
A major investment of £12 million in the area began in 2002, which has seen significant public realm improvements and property refurbishment, with the aim of creating a vibrant ‘village centre’ for locals just a step away from Oxford Street and Marble Arch.
CWM will work closely with niche public relations consultancy, Coverdale Davis and has a well established track record as a firm dedicated to the retail sector employing a team of 34 retail property advisors. Successful projects have included Marylebone Village, Burlington Arcade, Chelsea Green and Camden Passage. The Portman Estate and CWM will unveil its strategy for Portman Village early in the New Year.
Louise Sheerin, Asset Manager at The Portman Estate says: ‘We are delighted to announce the appointment of CWM, who has an excellent track record in creating exciting, vibrant shopping destinations and putting together a dynamic mix of tenants to bring an area alive.’
Shirin Elghanayan, a senior partner at CWM who heads up the company’s Special Projects division, says: ‘We are delighted to be appointed on this exciting project for The Portman Estate. Our full strategy will be revealed in the new year, but our main aim will be to create a quality retail environment with associated amenities for the local community, as well as a varied mix of tenants to attract visitors from other parts of the capital.’
